This notice explains how Chicken Simulator handles information. Chicken Simulator is published by Darkness Studio. It should be read together with the Darkness Studio Privacy Policy.
1. The short version
Chicken Simulator saves some information on your device and uses online services for Google Play Games sign-in, the Darkness Studio player profile, purchases and multiplayer. We do not sell your information. The game does not contain third-party advertising, and Darkness Studio does not use it for behavioral advertising.
2. Information stored on your device
The game stores the information needed to continue and configure your experience. This can include:
- World and save-slot data, player and animal state, and gameplay progress.
- Graphics, audio, controls, camera and accessibility preferences.
- Your chosen player name and other local interface preferences.
- Locally cached store, catalog, entitlement and profile information used to display the game correctly when a service is temporarily unavailable.
- Recording-library entries that you choose to add from your phone.
If you select a phone video for the recording library, Chicken Simulator stores a local reference to that video together with details such as its name, duration, date and map label. The video remains in your phone's storage. Chicken Simulator does not upload the selected video to Darkness Studio, and removing its entry from the game does not delete the original video.
3. Google Play Games sign-in and the Darkness Studio account
On Android, Chicken Simulator uses Google Play Games to sign you in. The game obtains the sign-in result, a platform identifier and your Google Play Games nickname. The nickname can be used as the editable default player name.
To create or access the online Chicken Simulator profile, the game sends a short-lived Google Play authentication code to the Darkness Studio backend. The backend verifies that code with Google and creates its own internal player identifier. Chicken Simulator does not receive your Google password.
4. Online profile and game data
The Darkness Studio backend keeps the information required to operate your account and protect server-authoritative game features. Depending on what you use, that includes:
- An internal Darkness Studio player ID, account role and account creation time.
- Gold balance, Gold debt, experience, level, stat points and profile version.
- Owned and equipped Chickens, character stats, unlocks and entitlements.
- Inbox messages, whether they were opened, rewards and claim status.
- Purchase and reward processing records needed to prevent the same item from being granted twice or to correct a refund.
- Authentication sessions and security records used to keep the account signed in and protect it from misuse.
5. Purchases
Purchases are processed by Google Play. Google handles your payment method and payment-card information; Darkness Studio does not receive the full card number.
To verify a purchase and deliver the correct content, Chicken Simulator and the Darkness Studio backend handle the Google Play product ID, purchase token, quantity, verification result and the Gold or entitlement granted. We may keep a record that a purchase was processed, refunded or reversed so the account remains accurate and the same purchase cannot be granted more than once.
6. Multiplayer and Epic Online Services
Chicken Simulator uses Epic Online Services (EOS) for online multiplayer. EOS may process a product user identifier, authentication and connection data, session membership, online presence and network information needed to create, find and join sessions.
When you host or join a session, other players may see the player name you use in the game. A listed session can also show the host name, server name, player count, whether a password is required, map and game version. Passwords used for private sessions are not advertised as plain text by Chicken Simulator.
7. Diagnostics, security and support
Google Play, Android, Epic Online Services and our hosting providers may generate technical information such as app version, device or operating-system details, IP address, connection events, request time, error status and crash or performance information. We use available technical records to keep the game working, protect accounts, prevent fraud and investigate failures.
If you contact support, we receive the information in your message and any screenshots, recordings or purchase details you choose to attach. Do not send passwords, authentication codes, full payment-card details or purchase tokens.
8. How we use this information
We use the information described above to:
- Sign you in and maintain the Chicken Simulator account.
- Save progress, balances, characters, entitlements and inbox state.
- Run multiplayer sessions and show the server browser.
- Verify purchases, grant content and handle refunds or reversals.
- Provide support and diagnose technical problems.
- Protect the game, players and backend from cheating, abuse and fraud.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
9. Who receives information
Information is shared only when needed to run the game, complete a player request, protect the service or comply with law. The main providers used by Chicken Simulator are:
- Google Play Games and Google Play: sign-in, distribution, purchases and platform services. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Epic Online Services: multiplayer identity, sessions and connections. See the Epic Games Privacy Policy.
- Darkness Studio service providers: backend, website, network and security infrastructure used to operate Chicken Simulator.
We may also disclose information when required by a valid legal process or when reasonably necessary to protect users, our rights or the security of the service.
Darkness Studio does not sell or rent Chicken Simulator player information.
10. Retention
Local save data remains on your device until you delete it, clear the application's storage or uninstall the game. A selected phone video remains under your control in phone storage.
Online profile and gameplay data is kept while the Chicken Simulator account is active and for a reasonable period needed to operate, secure and support the service. Purchase, refund, fraud-prevention and legal records may be kept longer when necessary to resolve a transaction, protect the service or meet a legal obligation. Multiplayer session information is generally temporary, although service and security logs may remain for a limited operational period.
11. Account deletion
You can request deletion of your Chicken Simulator account and the data associated with it by emailing [email protected] with the subject Chicken Simulator Account Deletion. Include the Google Play Games nickname used in the game and any other non-sensitive information that can help us locate the correct account. We may ask for limited additional verification before deleting it.
After verification, we will delete or anonymize the Darkness Studio account data that is not required for security, fraud prevention, transaction disputes or legal compliance. A deletion request does not delete your Google or Epic account, Google Play purchase history or information controlled independently by those providers.
Deleting the online account does not automatically remove local save data from your phone. You can remove local data through Android's application storage settings or by uninstalling Chicken Simulator.
12. Your privacy choices
You may contact us to ask what information is directly controlled by Darkness Studio, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern. Rights differ by location, and we will handle verified requests as required by applicable law. Google and Epic provide their own account and privacy controls for information they control.
13. Children's privacy
Chicken Simulator does not ask players to provide a real name, home address or phone number. Online and purchase features depend on the age requirements, family settings and parental controls of Google Play and Epic Online Services. A parent or guardian may contact us if they believe a child's information should be reviewed or deleted.
14. Security
We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect account and gameplay information, including authenticated requests and server-side purchase verification. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so we also limit the information used by the game and never ask players to send passwords or authentication codes to support.
15. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when Chicken Simulator adds or removes features, changes providers or when legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will show when the current version took effect.
16. Contact
Privacy questions and requests for Chicken Simulator may be sent to [email protected].
